OVERVIEW

This is Month 1 Week 3 (M1W3) – Active Awareness Length : 8:15 Minutes

Focus Questions

Being right is so addicting that many people are willing to sacrifice their own happiness in order to defend the way they see things. Knowing that we do not see the world as it is, but rather “as we are” gives us freedom to reframe. If having absolute masterful self- awareness and self- control were a 10 and being completely unaware that you can choose your response were a 1, where would you be? How does that level of emotional intelligence wither expand or contract your life choices?

As Einstein said, “Imagination is more important than knowledge.” While this is true, also of great importance is what you are imagining. “Effortless High Performers” begin their creative process focused on what is right, while the masses begin by thinking about what is broken. If you were to evaluate your creative process and ”opportunity expanding focus” were a 10 and ”problem solving focus” were a 1, where would you lie?

Having the confidence that we can effectively evaluate information and ultimately make a decision is a prerequisite for courageously exploring new possibilities. If having a clear process, (such as the OOCEMR process I mentioned) through which you evaluate options is a 10 and going simply by gut is a 1, where are you in this scale? How does this either encourage or dis-encourage you from imagining, accepting, and acting on new possible perceptions?

OVERVIEW

This is Month 1 Week 2 (M1W2) – Physiology Length : 8 Minutes

Focus Questions

Accepting that our lifestyle plays a huge role in our physiology, and understanding that there is a wide spectrum available for how we engage, if 1 were to represent a sloth who eats fried pork rinds and a 10 were a vegan who meditates daily while addressing every area of fitness, where would you score yourself? How do you feel this either enhances or diminishes your potential? What is the one thing you can and are willing to do that will have the greatest positive impact on your baseline physiology?

Present moment awareness also impacts our physiological experience, with behaviors like breathing deeply, smiling, relaxed yet alert musculature being powerful positives and shallow breathing, frowning, and muscle tension being negatives. Reflecting on the way you go through everyday, if the ideal present moment awareness is a 10 and unconscious physiology were a 1, where are you showing up? How does this benefit or detract from your life? What is one action you are willing and able to take that will shift you in the positive direction?

OVERVIEW

This is Month 1 Week 1 (M1W1) – We’re going to look at the “Expectations” side of the Prism of Perspective. Awareness of your Expectations and how you filter information can empower you in every situation. Enjoy the video, take advantage of the downloadable audio and pdf versions and leave any comments and questions below. Length : 8 Minutes

Focus Questions

If you were to evaluate your willingness to trust others, with 10 being absolute trust and 1 being no trust, where would you fall? What do you believe is the consequence of that?

Some fear scarcity while others expect abundance, on a 10 point scale with unlimited abundance being 10 and absolute scarcity being a 1, how do you see the world? How does that impact your willingness to go for Win/Win?

Murphy believed “Anything that can go wrong will go wrong” while W. Clement Stone called himself “an inverse paranoid”, believing “the Universe is conspiring to serve him.” If Murphy were a 1 on the scale of possibility thinking and Stone were a 10, what would you be? How is this way of holding expectations of the world expanding or constricting your life?

A great quote by Einstein is that “imagination is more important than knowledge.”

The question is why? Because imagination imagines the future. And in that moment begins to define the future. And because Imagination is unlimited. Anybody that’s studied Einstein at all knows his thinking really came out of his incredible imagination. But most people, when they come to this place of imagination, are really looking at the world like “how do I fix what’s broken?”

That’s linear, logical thinking, right. We go right to solve the problem. Those who are more creative tend to ask a different question. They begin with the idea of “let me look at what’s great hee and how do I expand it?”

So once we have imagination and we are looking to expand on what’s great, we’re equipped to make alternative choices. We’re not reactive, we’re responsive.

Having an evaluation model can really empower this proces. An evaluation model that I use, I picked up from Anthony Robbins a long time ago and it’s known as OOCEMRR. This stands for outcome, options, consequence, evaluate, mitigate, and resolve. There’s lots of different models, but you definitely wanna be able to go through a series of questions that are gonna bring you to your best alternative.

And then the final piece is you have to be willing to take action because if we do all this evaluation and imagination but we don’t really take any action then nothing has really happened. And so this is actually about taking action out in the world and doing it in a way that empowers us rather than feeling at the effect of life where energy is negative and it’s always draining us. I invite you to become part of the creative process.

O Outcome

O Options

C Consequences

E Evaluate

M Mitigate

R Resolve

Outcome

What are you after, what does your vision look like? How do you want to feel? Who do you want to influence. Enjoy the desired result now before it has happened.

Options

Remember when you only have one option you have no choice. When you have two options there is a dilemma, when you get three or more options then you truly have choice.

Consequences

What is the likely result of each of your options. There are likely to be upsides and downsides that will come from each option and some things that you won’t be happy about. Make a list of them.

Evaluate

Weigh each option, judge which one is most likely to get you your result. Does the upside get me my outcome or not and what is the probablity of it actually succeeding. What is the amount of good that will come from this and bad that will come from this on a 1-10 scale. This will eliminate a lot of your options

Mitigate

Take the downsides from your remaining options and add something new that will get rid of the downside so that the decision will only have upside nto downside.

Resolve

You will now have your best option. now set yourself up to win. You won’t go back, the decision is made. Visualise yourself applying the decision and deciding that you will win no matter what.

By thinking about our principles and deciding which ones are the most important to us, we simplify many decisions we might otherwise wrestle with and often choose against our deepest self interest. This is because, in the heat of the moment, decisions are often made based on expediency, rather than principle. This is critical because although expediency can feel good in the moment, principled decisions ultimately lead us to the outcomes personally and professionally that we desire.

Be Inspired!

“When you are inspired by some great purpose, some extraordinary project, all your thoughts break their bonds: Your mind transcends limitations, your consciousness expands in every direction, and you find yourself in a new, great, and wonderful world. Dormant forces, faculties and talents become alive, and your discover yourself to be a greater person by far than you ever dreamed yourself to be.” Patanjali

As we let go of our fears, new possibilities upon up for us. We are able to appreciate the gifts of others and to understand how those gifts can work in harmony with our own to create something far greater than what is possible on our own. The leadership expert John Maxwell says, “Nothing great is ever achieved by ourselves.”

Amazing things become possible for us when we let go of our perceived need for a defensive life stance and embrace the potential of expansion. Moving away from a fear based belief system actually engages a different part of our minds. Physiologically, our thinking literally moves away from our pre-historic “fight or flight” mid-brain and into the more creative and thoughtful frontal cortex. Within the cortex is where all higher level thinking occurs. What this means is accessing our “humanity” demands that we free ourselves of the incessant fear that accompanies a paradigm based on danger and scarcity. We can then experience a level of peace from which to explore the world. This amplifies our power to create the world we desire, not only through our own efforts, but because we become more attractive to others who have similarly elevated their consciousness.

Mastering the art of influence improves one’s overall quality of life moreso than virtually any other skill. It is through mastering this skill that we are able to engage the energy and talents of others. The unlimited potential inherent to influence techniques means that they absolutely deserve our intentional commitment. The benefits of doing so are far-reaching. Ultimately, the greatest experts in influence experience prosperity and fulfillment in every area of life.

Despite this self-evident truth, most businesses choose not to effectively invest resources in mastering the art of powerful persuasion. One great barrier is the belief in the sustaining power of natural ability. This limiting belief holds that one either has the “gift of gab” or does not. If the latter, one simply lacks the tools necessary to achieve excellence in influence. The unintended cost of this belief is tremendous.
